Thanks so much for making the time to come and talk to me. We’d love to ask you a few questions as you’re relatively new to the company and we’d love to get to know you a bit better!

Q1. Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your role at Alsco Uniforms?

Sure, so I’m the Human Resources Advisor and we’re a very small team here at Alsco, we’re based in the Support Centre office in Central Auckland. And I’ve been with Alsco Uniforms for around 10 months now. Time flies!

Q2. And what did your career path look like before you joined us?

So I got my BCom/Management degree at Victoria University in Wellington, and then floated around some sort of different HR and admin related roles. Spent some time on remuneration projects over in Darwin, Australia. And then training and development projects, before a decent stint in recruitment and training programmes for the healthcare industry. These were busy roles and high volume, but quite different to Alsco – different industries.

Q3. Have you completed any training or qualifications completed through Alsco Uniforms?

Yes! So I’ve completed quite a bit of training at Alsco Uniforms, my personal development has been highly encouraged by my manager and I have been very well supported. So Alsco Uniforms recently supported my Human Resources New Zealand Accreditation – which is a great string to add to my bow.

Q4. What do you love most about your job?

Mostly the people that I work with. The people that we work with here are such salt of the earth people, if you know what I mean?  There are some amazing people who work here and they work hard, and so are easy to admire. And I’m also quite proud of how innovative Alsco Uniforms can be in terms of sustainability achievements, such as cutting our carbon emissions, that seems to be a focus at the moment and I’m really enjoying watching what Alsco Uniforms will do in the future in that sustainability space.

Q5. What advice would you give to someone thinking about joining Alsco Uniforms?

No advice, just come on in and join our team!
