At Alsco Uniforms Dunedin,  we believe in backing organisations that are making a meaningful difference in our communities, and few do that quite like The Bowling Club.

Founded by Jackie and Liam in 2022, The Bowling Club started as a small food struck navigating the cold southerlies of South Dunedin. But from the very beginning, it was about more than good. Their vision was to create a space where people from all walks of life could gather, connect, and share kai, a space where everyone is welcome.

We are so grateful to the Alsco Uniforms team for sharing so generously with us! Supplying us with aprons, tea towels & first aid supplies means all of our services are able to flow more smoothly, and there’s more energy to focus on what The Bowling Club is really about: connecting with people and making nourishment accessible in our community” – says Jackie & team

Now operating a thriving community eatery, The Bowling Club is open daily for lunch and dinner and runs on a pay-what-you-feel model. That means diners can pay the set price, what they can afford, or nothing at all, and those in a position to give more, there’s even an option to pay it forward and cover a meal for someone else.

To help support the important work Jackie, Liam, and their team are doing, Alsco Uniforms Dunedin recently donated a fully serviced, wall-mounted First Aid cabinet, now installed in The Bowling Club’s kitchen. We’re also proud to supply the staff aprons and kitchen tea towels that help keep their team running smoothly every day.

“Alsco Uniforms Dunedin branch is pretty proud to support our local communities. It’s such an honour to be part of what Jackie, Liam, and The Bowling Club team are building in their unwavering commitment to bring people together from all walks to share kai, in a world that at times, can feel a divided and lonely place,” says Megan Lahood, Client Manager for Dunedin, who managed the relationship with The Bowling Club.

From serving 300 meals a night to over 1,000, and growing from a team of 2 to 24, The Bowling Club continues to show what’s possible when compassion meets community spirit.
