Connecting with Our Community
Strengthening Our Community, Together
At Alsco Uniforms®, we believe in making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve. Through partnerships with various non-profits, sports teams, and community groups, we actively contribute to the well-being of individuals and families, both locally and globally. From repurposing products to supporting charitable organizations, we are proud to be an active community partner.
our repurposing
Giving Goods a Second Life
At Alsco Uniforms®, we’re deeply committed to making a positive impact on both our local and global communities. Through the dedication of our volunteer Alsco Uniforms® Ambassadors, we’ve developed a growing initiative that provides a second life to products, reduces waste, and supports the people who need it most.

Partnerships & Efforts:
We proudly support over 80 charitable organizations across New Zealand and abroad, with long-standing partnerships such as Shine, Healthy Homes, and Medical Aid Abroad. Under the leadership of Pat Munro and her dedicated team, our ambassadors have made a significant impact on communities in need, especially during challenges like the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2023 alone, we donated more than 2,000 first aid kits and a large amount of repurposed bed linen, sheets, pillows, cot sheets, and more.
Additionally, we’re proud to work with PBT (Peter Baker Transport), who generously provide free transportation of donated goods across New Zealand.

Alsco Uniforms® Supports the Auckland City Mission Cook-Off
Alsco Uniforms® is proud to participate in the Auckland City Mission Cook off for the fifth year in a row! This event unites business leaders, chefs, and volunteers to cook a three-course meal for 150 guests, many of whom face homelessness or food insecurity.
In 2024, our Fresh & Clean Business Manager, Troy Wild, represented Alsco Uniforms® by cooking a delicious meal and raising an impressive $45,000, far exceeding his goal of $10,000. These funds will help provide nutritious meals and support to families in need.

giving something back
Our partnership with SBN’s Connect for Nature programme
In early 2017, Alsco Uniforms partnered with the Sustainable Business Network’s Million Metres Streams Project which focused on riparian tree planting. This has since matured into a new programme, Connect for Nature. While riparian planting remains important, the programme supports projects that have a more diverse range of environmental and social outcomes.
The programme channels investment into initiatives that restore and enhance biodiversity while aligning with local aspirations.
Each winter, Alsco Uniforms staff take action for nature, participating in volunteer days across the country. Since the beginning of our partnership, we’ve made a significant impact, with the following milestones:
24,552
native plants planted
977
volunteers participating
34

1,270

$280,311

We are proud of our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and helping restore Aotearoa New Zealand’s natural resources. For more information, visit www.sustainable.org.nz/take-action/connect-for-nature/ [sustainable.org.nz]
